An Important challenge: My wedding dress

I did have to stop all my sewing projects for putting all my energy in my own wedding dress. I am going to sew my own wedding dress and that will require from me a lot of effort and concentration.

I want to be practical, I don't want to sew something just for being use one day in my lifetime. So, I have decide to sew my traditional national dress for the ceremony and a blouse and skirt for the party.

I will use silk double georgette, silk organza and silk crepe de chine for my wedding dress; silk organza in different shades of Pink for my party outfit.
At the moment I am working with the toile,  specially of the wedding dress. I have just bought the fabric for the party outfit.

My TIBI Skirt version

Hello Everyone.! As the title says this sewing project was inspired by the Silk faille skirt from TIBI. This skirt was a boom between bloggers, in colours red and lime green,  but when I checked the website of TIBI you also can find it in black.  I did'nt have Silk faille fabric but I remember that I did have taffeta which I bought long time ago. So, I decided to sew my own version. The pictures were took at my work place and there was so much wind, it was crazy, but here it is my Tibi skirt version           I dont know how Silk faille fabric behave but I can say that Taffeta is not the best option, it gets wrinkle very easy and you must use something under to avoid static electricity. My Roland Mouret Neon Green Betley Top version

Hei In my fabrics stash I did have some pieces of neon green crepe fabric. I love that color, and I did really want to do a Top with it. So, I managed to do a Top based on the dress from Roland Mouret called Betley, but I didn't have enough fabric for me to  be able to make the front part  in one piece that's why you see the top front part made of two pieces sew together. (Picture 1), the original do not have it. Picture 1   Picture 2   I didn't want the front part to be open in the belly area. I did also a small change in the back.   It's done...!

My Roland Mouret Herbert dress version

Hello Everyone!!! Since I saw this dress I loved it. What I did'nt like was the price. I must admit that I have bought clothes from Roland Mouret; actually, I did have two times the chance to buy this dress but I made my decision: I am going to sew it myself. I saw many pictures of this dress for covering every detail, including the type of fabric. It took me a lot of work until I got it right, I am not a professional, I just love sewing and fashion. Imagination was the key, specially because this dress is completely base in draping. Which I did With the help of my dress form. You have seen this dress in many actresses or famous people.
